Gladbach given Reus boost

Borussia Moenchengladbach star Marco Reus declared himself fit to play after a groin injury on Friday, but his side will be without striker Mike Hanke for Saturday's Bundesliga trip to Kaiserslautern.

"I don't feel any more pain and I feel ready to play," said Reus, Gladbach's top scorer with 13 goals this season, after consulting Germany's national team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt in Munich.

Gladbach coach Lucien Favre has nonetheless named a 19-man squad for the game at Kaiserslautern in case Reus is forced to withdraw at the last minute.

The in-form Hanke will definitely miss Saturday's match after succumbing to the flu. His place in the starting XI is likely to be taken by Brazilian-born Belgian Igor de Camargo.
