Knee injury sidelines Dede

Borussia Dortmund wing-back Dede is set to be sidelined until the new year by a knee injury.

The 31-year-old Brazilian was injured during the 1-1 draw at Werder Bremen on Sunday and underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair ligament damage in his right knee.

A statement on the club's official website confirmed: "Dede has torn the medial meniscus and the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

"He was diagnosed with the knee injury following a scan carried out by club doctor Markus Braun at the BG Unfallklinik hospital in Duisburg on Monday.

"He underwent surgery on Tuesday, performed by Dr Jurgen Eichhorn, a knee specialist in Straubing, Bavaria.

"According to club doctor Braun, Dede has to undergo approximately six weeks of rehab and will most likely return to regular training in January."
