Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Doll has launched an angry attack on pundits who have suggested that he has achieved little in his time in charge at the Westfalenstadion.
Doll guided his side to the final of the German Cup final this season, where they lost in extra-time to Bayern Munich, but they have struggled in the league and currently lie 13th in the Bundelsiga.
Doll fumed: "Just 400 days ago this club was at rock-bottom and if anybody had said back then that we would reach the DFP-Pokal final and qualify for the UEFA Cup, I would be seen as a sensational coach.
"But that is not the case. I am constantly being nailed on the wall and everything negative takes centre stage.
"Now to get on the back of my players, it just makes me laugh. How am I to prepare for a game when eight of my players are apparently not going to be around next season?
"We are playing in Europe two years earlier than planned and you could maybe pick up on the positive now and again. To claim I have not achieved anything here is disrespectful."
