Australian goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak was between the posts as Borussia Dortmund smashed Hamburg 5-1 on Sunday as the defending champions joined Bayern Munich and Schalke at the top of the German league.
The 23-year-old former Melbourne Victory shot-stopper stepped in for veteran Roman Weidenfeller, who failed to recover from back pains, and made only his second league appearance as Dortmund swept aside Hamburg.
Langerak signed for Dortmund in July 2010, but made his Bundesliga debut against Bayern in the 3-1 victory last February and was called up to the Socceroos squad as Borussia went onto win last season's title.
The win in Hamburg sees Borussia join leaders Bayern and Schalke on 37 points.
Dortmund took the lead when Japan winger Shinji Kagawa slipped his pass through the Hamburg defence to allow Germany's Kevin Grosskreutz to fire home on 16 minutes.
Poland striker Robert Lewandowski scored his 13th goal in 18 league games when he held off Germany defender Dennis Aogo to fire home on 37 minutes.
Dortmund midfielder and Poland captain Jakub Blaszczykowski -- known as Kuba -- made it 3-0 on 58 minutes before he netting a 76th-minute penalty and Lewandowski danced through the defence for the fifth goal on 83 minutes.
Hamburg grabbed a consolation when Langerak managed to deny Zhi-Gin Lam, but Peru striker Jose Guerrero pouned on the loose ball to net on 86 minutes.
