Is Robert Lewandowski going to regret his move to Bayern Munich?

It looks like the crisis is way behind Borussia Dortmund and their star-striker Robert Lewandowski. Yesterday he produced two wonderful goals in the massive 5-1 win over Werder Bremen. He has been rated 1,5 (world class) by German’s most important football newspaper Kicker for his performance in this game. Is he going to pity that he’s leaving Borussia at the end of the season?

These were his first two strikes since 30th November, when he scored against Mainz in Bundesliga. It doesn’t mean he played bad during that time, worked hard for the team, draw the attention of the defenders, giving more space for his team mates.

But the pressure was getting bigger, and the minutes without scoring have been obviously counted. In the same time he officially announced his move to Bayern in the summer and the controversy aroused. Frequently asked question was if he is able to keep his concentration and regain a good performance in the second half of the season?

He replied in the best possible way yesterday. Not only he scored twice, but was one of the best on the field. He causes a constant thread for the Bremen defence and took part in almost every Dortmund attack. Despite a very physical play of Werder’s defender Lukimya, he withstood it perfectly, winning most of the one on one’s.

After two consecutive wins, BVB is clearly back on track with the important Champions League campaign ahead of them. Dortmund manager Juergen Klopp seems to deal better now with many injuries in his team, discovering new central back’s in persons of Socratis Papastathopoulos and Manuel Friedrich, who are improving their quality and starting to adapt well into the first eleven. And the defence used to be the biggest problem so far.

Team looks refreshed and polish striker himself is founding his attacking instinct again. This is a good omen before the 1/8 Champions League clash with Zenit Sankt Petersburg. Borussia has everything to go all the way to final in Lisbon once again this year and Robert Lewandowski is the crucial part of the team. His position on the front is beyond any discussion and additionally his co-operation with Marco Reus and Henrikh Mkhitaryan looks just perfect.

I believe he may have some doubts and thoughts about the move to Bayern in his head, although the decision has been made and contract is signed now. He is leaving a good functioning team where he is the central factor, the life in FCB will not be so simple for him at least in the beginning. He must fight his place on the field trough, which will not be easy in the team packed with international football celebrities.
