Dortmund Join Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in Race for Diego Costa

Borussia Dortmund is the most recent entrant in the £20 million race for Atletico Madrid goal scoring wizard Diego Costa. Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal face stiff battle from the German team as they battle to bring the Atletico hitman to the Premier League.

Diego Costa has managed to replace the void created by Falcao’s departure scoring 16 times in his last 17 appearances. He stands behind only Cristiano Ronaldo in La Lifa top scorer chart.

Despite Costa admitting he is happy in the Spanish capital, top clubs from all over Europe are lining up in hopes of tempting the Brazilian-born superstar to join their attacking side.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is looking to add another world-class striker to his lineup to compete with Samuel Eto’o while Demba Ba is likely to make a January transfer exit.

Liverpool’s summer bid for Costa was rejected but they are keen on making another bid. Despite having attacking duo Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, Reds boss Brendan Rogers will still be looking to secure more attacking power in order to secure a top position in the Premier League table.

Arsene Wenger is also looking to give Giroud more competition up front. Should Costa join the Gunners, he would join Spaniards Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla, and Nacho Monreal.

Most recent entrants Dortmund are looking to fill the void that will be created by Robert Lewandowski when he leaves this summer.

Costa’s goal scoring form has also captured the eye of Spanish teams Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Costa has a £20 million release clause in his contract that can be activated at the end of the current season.
