Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal to sign Germany Under-21 international Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer.

The 21-year-old was due to be out of contract at Monchengladbach in 2018 and their Bundesliga rivals have moved in to complete a reported 12 million euro (£10.35million) deal for a contract which will last until 2022.

Borussia Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc told the club's official website: "Mo Dahoud is a highly talented and exciting player for the central midfield, who we have been watching intensively for several years.

"He has already demonstrated that he can play at the top level."

Dahoud joined Gladbach from Fortuna Dusseldorf's youth team in 2010 and has been part of the first-team squad since the 2013/14 season.

The midfielder - a reported target of Liverpool - has featured in 52 Bundesliga games, scoring six goals.
