Poland captain Jakub Blaszczykowski is set to extend his contract with German champions Dortmund, the daily Westdeutschen Allgemeinen Zeitung (WAZ) reported Thursday, citing sources close to the midfielder.
Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke has said he is optimistic that Blaszczykowski will sign beyond his current contract which expires in 2013.
"Kuba has been with us for five years, he feels good and knows what he has here. I'm convinced he'll stay with us," said Watzke, adding that negotiations would begin again after the European championships.
The 26-year-old midfielder arrived in the summer of 2007 from Wisla Krakow and was one of the stars of the club's Cup and Bundesliga double last season.
