Wigley handed Reebok role

Bolton Wanderers have named the former Southampton manager Steve Wigley as their new head coach. The 46-year-old will be part of Gary Megson's coaching team at the Reebok Stadium as well as continuing in his role as coach with the England Under-21 side. Meanwhile, the club are being linked with a move for Reading midfielder James Harper. Middlesbrough are also keen to sign the 27-year-old, who will cost in the region of £3million. Harper has made more than 300 first-team appearances for the Royals who were relegated from the Premier League in May. German teenager Kevin Wolze is set to leave the club and sign for Wolfsburg while former midfielder Mikel Alonso has been handed a trial by Olympiacos.
