Wanderers keen to retain Wilshere

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has revealed his interest in retaining on-loan Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere, 18, is on loan at the Reebok Stadium until the end of the season.

The England Under-21 international has impressed Coyle in his eight appearances to date and the Trotters chief would like to extend his stay into next season.

Speaking after Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Manchester United, he explained: "That's a conversation for the summer, but I felt he was terrific and showed a mature head on young shoulders.

"That's great for Arsenal, Bolton at the moment and English football in the future.

"If Arsene Wenger wants to give him to me for another year, I'd be delighted to take him."
