Bolton Wanderers are reportedly close to completing the signing of midfielder Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham City.
Reports claim a fee in the region of £5million has been agreed between the two clubs and the former England Under-21 international is set for talks with Trotters boss Gary Megson.
Muamba, who came through the academy at Arsenal, made 39 appearances for the Blues last season in a campaign which ended in relegation.
Meanwhile, Wanderers captain Kevin Nolan has called on his team-mates to start the new season in the same way they signed off the last one.
Bolton narrowly avoided relegation after an upturn in fortunes during the closing six weeks of the last season and face newly-promoted Stoke City on the opening day of the next campaign.
"It's true that there are no easy games in the Premier League and I'm sure Stoke City will be doing their best to get themselves off to a good, memorable start," he told the club's official website.
"But we finished strongly last season and I know we'll want to continue that into next season for as long as possible.
"Stoke will be buzzing when they come to the Reebok and I'm sure they'll bring a massive travelling support, so it'll be up to us to make sure that we let them know what the Premier League is all about."
