Bolton Wanderers striker El Hadji Diouf could leave the club this summer after admitting to being disappointed with Sam Allardyce's decision to quit the Reebok Stadium.
The Senegal international has been linked with clubs in Spain, Italy, France and Germany but is keeping his options open.
"I don't know yet what I am doing next season," he told the Bolton News.
"I need to talk with the gaffer, the chairman and my manager as well. But, whatever I do next season, whether I stay or go, I will never forget Bolton.
"I really don't know what I am doing but, whatever I do in my life, I will never forget this football club.
"Of course, when I saw on TV that Sam had left I was very sad.
"I will never forget him. He did a lot of things for me and that is why I have played better here than at Liverpool. Sam gave me confidence and respect as well.
"He was like a dad for me and he has done so well for this football club, he should be respected.
"But he decided to go, and Sammy Lee is here to do the job now. Now, every player needs to talk to Sammy Lee. We all know Sammy and that is good.
"If you change manager and someone else comes in, it can be a problem, but Sammy Lee is here already, he knows everybody and he looks like being a dad as well."
