Trotters move for Helguson

Bolton Wanderers have agreed an undisclosed fee with Fulham to sign striker Heidar Helguson.

The Iceland international has passed a medical at the Reebok Stadium and is poised to put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Helguson made 57 appearances and scored 12 times for the Cottagers following a £1.3million transfer from Watford in 2005.

The 29-year-old was more prolific for the Hornets, netting 64 times in 169 appearances.

"I like Helguson a lot," Bolton boss Sammy Lee told the club's official website. "He has a great work ethic and understands the demands of the Premier League.

"I have always been an admirer of his attitude to the game and his ability to score goals at vital times."
