Trotters keen to get rid of Riga

Published: 03 Sep 2010 - 17:16:00

Mustapha Riga looks set to be the next player to quit Bolton, but the club have so far failed to agree a severance package with the forward. The Dutchman was omitted from the Trotters' 24-man Premier League squad on Wednesday and Owen Coyle has left the 28-year-old in no doubt that he has no future at the Reebok Stadium. Coyle have already allowed Danny Shittu to leave this week, but according to the Bolton News, the club could not reach an agreement with Riga over a pay off before the transfer deadline. The player has 12 months remaining on his contract and is understood to earn around £1million a year, but Riga has started just two Premier League games in his two seasons at the club since joining from Levante in 2008.
