Trotters keen on Taylor
07 Jan 2008 - 11:45:12
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson says his club are one of those in the hunt to sign Portsmouth's out-of-favour left-back Matt Taylor.
The 26-year-old is frustrated after starting only a handful of games for Pompey this season and Megson believes the former Luton Town man would be a welcome addition to the Trotters squad.
He said: "We've spoken to Portsmouth and I think, as far as they're concerned and we're concerned, we've got a deal between the two clubs.
"There's five or six clubs that are interested in the lad and we were talking on Friday.
"I spoke to Harry Redknapp and he had the game at Ipswich Town and we had our game, so we said we'd resume talks on Monday."
Pompey manager Redknapp told The News: "Matty wants to leave. He wants to move and we have had a couple of clubs in for him.
"As soon as I get some people in who I think will improve the team I will think about selling him. Until then, he won't go. Whether he wants to go or not is not important to me."
