Taylor: Trotters will survive

New signing Matt Taylor believes there is enough quality in the Bolton Wanderers squad to avoid relegation.

The Trotters boosted their survival chances with Saturday's crucial 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers Reading.

Taylor, who joined the club in a £4million deal from Portsmouth last month, could even afford the luxury of missing a penalty at the Madejski Stadium.

But after helping Wanderers move up to 14th place in recent weeks, the left-sided midfielder is positive about the future of his new club.

"In the little time I've been here and from what I've seen, we've got the quality in the squad to get out of the position we're in," he told the Bolton Evening News.

"We want to go on a good run now and get well out of the position we're in, not just sneak out of it.

"This club has done great things in the last four or five years, and we want to get back to where we were a couple of years ago."
