Sam rules out Diouf exit

Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has laughed off reports suggesting El Hadji Diouf is about to leave the club and sign for Atletico Madrid.

The Senegal international has been linked with a £6million switch to Spain, but Allardyce has dismissed any suggestion of the player moving on.

"We just wouldn't take anything like that figure," he told the club's official website. "He's worth a lot more than that.

"He's an integral part of the team, one of the most influential players in that position across Europe."

The controversial 26-year-old has kick-started his career at Bolton after it stalled during a disappointing spell with Liverpool.

Diouf has scored 18 goals in 87 appearances for the club since moving to the Reebok, initially on loan, at the start of the 2004-05 campaign.
