Portsmouth 1 Bolton 0: Kanu's feeling lucky as Hart eyes United safety net

In the list of Portsmouth's greatest achievements, lifting the FA Cup last season and avoiding the drop in dramatic fashion three years ago will take some beating. But the turnaround in their fortunes since Paul Hart replaced Tony Adams has got to be worthy of a special mention and must enhance his chances of being handed the job on a permanent basis. Victory over Bolton on Saturday means Portsmouth are just one win away from survival, if the agreed wisdom of 40 points being enough is to be believed. That magic figure can be achieved on Wednesday night at Old Trafford if Portsmouth can repeat their famous FA Cup sixth round victory of last season. Lucky touch: Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen desperately fails to keep the ball out as Kanu gets the decisive to score Pompey's vital match-winner Hart, understandably, was not keen to talk about points targets. Buthaving lost just one of his eight games in charge, neither was he writing off his side's chances of getting something against Manchester United. 'If anybody can hazard a guess at where it is going to end up thenthey are a better man than me,' said Hart of the relegation picture.'We have just got to work on the basis that we have to keep going untilthe end of the season.
