Bolton Wanderers have handed defender Andy O'Brien a contract extension which ties him to the club until 2011.
O'Brien, 29, arrived at the Reebok Stadium from Portsmouth in August 2007 and has gone on to become a fixture at the heart of the Wanderers defence.
The former Newcastle United and Bradford City centre-half has made 50 first-team appearances for the Trotters.
"I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity that Bolton Wanderers gave me, and the way that the people at the club - the supporters, the manager Gary Megson and the players - have treated me," he told the club's official website.
"This has made me enjoy my football as much as I've ever have done in my career, so hopefully I'll continue to do that and we'll pick up results.
"From my point of view, I'm happy at Bolton so if they're happy to keep me then there was never a problem.
"I'm delighted to have extended my contract and there's plenty of hard work ahead of me now."
