Nolan predicts better season
14 Jul 2008 - 10:22:37
Captain Kevin Nolan believes the combination of new signings and the return of injured players will lead to a much improved season for Bolton Wanderers .
The Trotters narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League during a dismal last season in which they finished just one point above the drop zone.
But the return to fitness of key players Jussi Jaaskelainen and Ricardo Gardner - both of whom have signed new deals - and the arrivals of new players Fabrice Muamba and Johan Elmander has left Nolan in upbeat mood.
"It's great that Jussi and Bibi (Gardner) have signed new deals," he told the club's official website.
"I'm absolutely delighted that they have both signed because they are massive players and we missed them for a big part of last season.
"I'm delighted that we've spent money on two quality players.
"From what I saw of Fabrice last year, he looks like he'll be a good addition to the squad.
"I haven't seen much of Elmander yet but I'm sure if you're getting the goals in the French league and you're a Swedish international then he's not going to be short of the quality that we need."
