No Tigers transfer for Davies

Bolton Wanderers insist Kevin Davies is not for sale after Hull City made a bid for the former Chesterfield, Southampton and Blackburn striker.

The Tigers are believed to have offered more than £2million for the 31-year-old, who has scored 40 goals in 205 games for the Trotters.

City also had an offer for Davies' team-mate at the Reebok Stadium, Abdoulaye Meite, recently rejected by Bolton.

West Brom are also in the hunt to sign Meite.

Hull chairman Paul Duffen told the BBC: "We've made a bid for Kevin Davies but Bolton have said he's not for sale."
