No Bolton regrets for Braaten
02 Jul 2008 - 16:21:10
Daniel Braaten insists he has no regrets about his spell in England after finally ending a nightmare period with Bolton Wanderers and signing for Toulouse.
The 26-year-old Norwegian joined the Trotters last summer from Rosenborg in a £450,000 deal, but failed to start a Premier League match during a disappointing season at the Reebok Stadium.
After moving to Toulouse as part of the deal that brought Johan Elmander to Bolton, Braaten said: "When I left Rosenborg for Bolton in 2007, the beginning was positive and I became established in the first two months.
"Then, after some negative results, the manager (Sammy Lee) who had recruited me was dismissed and a new trainer arrived with new players.
"I understood very quickly that he was not counting on me. Consequently, I spent one difficult season at Bolton, playing little.
"But it helped my career. I tried the experiment and it was enriching, therefore, I don't regret it.
"I have joined Toulouse and now I must try to find my best levels again. I'm at a big club in a big city and I believe I can carry out some beautiful things here."
