Nic wins Davies backing
14 Nov 2006 - 08:56:41
Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies is confident that his team-mate Nicolas Anelka will find top form in the near future.
The 27-year-old France international has failed to find the net in nine league outings for the Trotters since his £8million arrival from Turkish side Fenerbahce, with his only goal coming in the Carling Cup win at Walsall.
However, Davies told the Bolton News: "I think as a striker, goals breed confidence.
"He is playing well for the team and contributing and once he gets a goal he will give us even more.
"But there is no doubting his quality. I went 16 games last year without scoring a goal, so I know what it is like.
"He's desperate for one, so we'll all keep trying to help him."
Anelka has previously enjoyed productive spells in the Premiership with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.
