Muamba relief for Trotters
09 Sep 2008 - 12:50:27
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has allayed fears that Fabrice Muamba suffered a serious ankle injury while away on international duty.
The £5million summer signing from Birmingham City limped off in the second half of England Under-21's 2-0 victory over Portugal last week.
Initial reports had suggested that Muamba faced a spell on the sidelines with the injury blow.
But Megson has revealed that he expects the midfielder to be fit enough to feature at Fulham on Saturday.
"Fabrice is alright, he just got a kick," he told the club's official website.
"He'd been booked anyway, so they just thought it was prudent to take him off, so it's not a major problem.
"He got a kick on his ankle and just jarred it."
