Muamba hopes for England call

Bolton Wanderers defender Fabrice Muamba still believes he has a chance of breaking into Fabio Capello's England squad.

The 21-year-old has not made an appearance for the senior team but has been a regular in the England Under-21 side and featured in Saturday's 1-0 victory against their Portugal counterparts.

Muamba hopes he can follow in the footsteps of former Under-21 team-mates James Milner, Tom Huddlestone and Gabby Agbonglahor, who have all been included in recent Capello squads.

He said: "I never get jealous of the boys who have stepped up to the full set-up. They've done extremely well to get up there.

"It just goes to show that, if you're playing well, Mr Capello is willing to give everybody a chance and it's great they've done that.

"We all see how well the likes of Milner, Agbonlahor, Joe Hart and Tom Huddlestone have done and it shows we've all got a chance."
