Modest Jussi points to luck
10 Nov 2008 - 14:24:06
Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen claimed he was fortunate to produce his match-winning display against Hull City on Saturday.
The 33-year-old Finn kept a clean sheet with a string of top-quality saves to keep the Tigers at bay and protect his side's 1-0 lead courtesy of Matty Taylor's goal.
"It was a special day because we have got the three points," he told the club's official website.
"They only had their chances in the last ten minutes. We deserved to be 1-0 up so then it was a case of keeping the clean sheet.
"Sometimes it's the little things that go for you in games. Earlier in the season, the ball might have bounced half-a-yard their way and their player would have got to it first.
"Because of the way we've been working hard as a team, we probably deserve that bit of luck because those things have not been going our way.
"Hopefully these back-to-back wins are the start of something for us. We have to keep going."
