Megson won't rush Davies
01 May 2009 - 15:49:00
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has promised not to rush Mark Davies back from injury.
The former Wolves midfielder has been sidelined since March with a knee problem but has finally been able to return to training.
However, Megson insisted: "We won't push Mark because he's had problems before.
"If we aren't desperate to get him in there, then we might leave it for the rest of the season. He's desperate to get back but we'll see."
Meanwhile, in-form striker Kevin Davies is determined that the season will not peter out.
The Trotters are almost certain to finish in a mid-table spot, but the former Southampton and Blackburn forward is aware that the team has only won one of their last seven matches.
He said: "We don't want to crawl over the finish line. We aren't totally clear of the bottom three but, ever since I've been at the club, we've had a tendency to finish the season strongly.
"I'll be disappointed if we lose games in our run-in. One good result can spark a bit of form, but our problem has been that we tend to get a good result and then we don't use that as a platform."
