Megson wary of Villa threat

Gary Megson has urged his Bolton Wanderers side to end any lingering relegation fears by finishing the season with a flourish.

Megson takes his Bolton side to Aston Villa this weekend knowing that a win will virtually banish any fears of dropping into the Championship.

However, the Trotters boss knows that it won't be easy against a Villa side that has impressed him this season despite their recent problems.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "Hopefully, the lads can get over our poor recent form against Villa and help us get a result.

"We want to remain in the Premiership but I'd like to finish with a flourish.

"There's a time to judge all football clubs and that's at the end of the season. Villa have had a terrific campaign and will push on and be even stronger next season.

"They've just had some really difficult games recently."
