Megson warning over squad

Gary Megson has urged the Bolton Wanderers board to put their hands in their pockets during the close season in order to strengthen his squad.
The Trotters signed off their Premier League season with a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City which left them in 13th place in the table.
Afterwards Megson confirmed that Ebi Smolarek, Ariza Makukula and Sebastien Puygrenier would all be leaving the Reebok Stadium when their loan deals expire.
But the Trotters chief also had a stark warning for the Bolton board.
He said: "With the three loan players we are letting go, we are left with a squad that would get relegated.
"We have to improve it. We have no choice.
"The hatchet job has been done. I was asked to get the expenses right down and keep the club in the Premier League.
"Now we have to look at a slightly more expensive way forward."
