Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson has vowed to take his time over bringing new players to the club this summer.
Megson is poised for a busy off-season as he tries to avoid another relegation scrap next term, but the Trotters boss will not rush into any hasty deals.
He told the Evening News: "We've got our targets we would like to bring in over the course of the summer.
"But initially you will find the really huge clubs will get their business done, because finance isn't an issue for them. They just get what they want.
"Then it goes quiet throughout June, before it starts to pick up a little bit with players who might not be available now becoming available in two months' time.
"It's not a case of it being tough, you just want to get in the best players you possibly can.
"But we are a football club that doesn't do stupid things. It's not just a case of getting them in at any cost, because then it doesn't become a good deal.
The Trotters have already been linked with a number of potential signings, including Toulouse striker Johan Elmander and Hertha Berlin frontman Marko Pantelic.
