Megson thrilled to sign Davis
01 Jul 2009 - 09:21:44
Sean Davis has completed his switch from Portsmouth to Bolton Wanderers, the 29-year-old midfielder's fourth club.
The former Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur star has penned a three-year contract at the Reebok Stadium after leaving Pompey on a free transfer.
Davis played in 116 matches for Portsmouth following his transfer from Spurs in January 2006.
Bolton boss Gary Megson said of the signing: "We're delighted to have signed such an experienced Premier League footballer in Sean Davis.
"Sean made 40 appearances last season for Portsmouth and he'll strengthen our midfield.
"We wanted to bring him to the Reebok in January but our bid of £3.5million was turned down by Portsmouth, who didn't want him to leave."
Davis is the latest big-name player to leave Fratton Park in the last six months following the departures of Glen Johnson, Jermain Defoe and Lassana Diarra.
