Bolton Wanderers winger Stelios Giannakopoulos won high praise from boss Gary Megson following his last-minute equaliser against Aris Salonika in the UEFA Cup.
The 33-year-old was making only his second start of the campaign for the Trotters, but marked the occasion with a late volley to deny his compatriots a victory at the Reebok Stadium.
Megson said afterwards: "We thought he would be right up for the game, because we were playing a Greek team.
"He has a knack of being in the right place at the right time. He has come up and saved us.
"Stelios is quite versatile, but when you have the standard of squad that we have, there is competition all over the place.
"It is a fact of life at this level, but there is no-one here who is out with the washing.
"People may not have started as much as they would like, but it doesn't mean there have been any pre-conceived ideas about who will or who won't play.
"It is purely and simply down to form and what we see on the training pitch."
