Megson shrugs off criticism

Defiant Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has refused to take notice of continuing criticism from some sections of the Trotters faithful.

Megson has been unable to win over all of the Bolton fans, but says he couldn't care less as long as his side continue to perform well on the field.

He told Sky Sports News: "It doesn't bother me, I couldn't care less.

"I want to try and get results and if that pleases people great, if getting the same results doesn't please them there is nothing I can do about them, so we will just keep ploughing on."

Meanwhile, Megson has firmly drawn a line under defender Danny Shittu being allowed to leave the club on loan.

He added in the Bolton News: "Danny will be here for the rest of the year, he won't be allowed to go out on loan and he'll play his part between now and the end of the season.

"To be perfectly fair to everyone there was one stage where Danny was particularly unhappy and was wanting to go out on loan. That may still be the case.

"But my view changes as our circumstances change. So nobody will be doing anything that doesn't suit Bolton and Danny going out on loan won't suit Bolton."
