Megson praises loanee Klasnic
20 Dec 2009 - 17:13:20
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is happy with the progress that loan striker Ivan Klasnic has made in recent weeks.
The 29-year-old Croatia international has scored four times in his last four outings for the Trotters, having previously found the net just once in nine games following his arrival from French club Nantes.
Megson said: "It has come at a good time for Bolton. That was what he was brought he for. We are taking baby steps with him, but he is starting to work a bit harder.
"He is starting to do more of the things he doesn't particularly like doing and is becoming a little bit more of a team player - but he still has that sole intention of scoring goals.
"That is a terrific trait to have, but there are other times when the ball might be 100 yards from the goal, so he has got to do his bit on that side of it.
"He is starting to adapt a little bit, which we are pleased with. It is not the Bolton way, it is the football way.
"You can't be the top scorer in a team that is relegated, that is not what we are looking for."
