Megson open to Rovers bids
19 Dec 2008 - 09:43:51
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has admitted that he would be willing to let some of his players move to Blackburn, if the price was right.
Former Trotters manager Sam Allardyce was confirmed as the new boss at Ewood Park earlier this week and was immediately linked with several Bolton players.
Megson is aware of the speculation and understands that he could face a difficult January keeping hold of players such as Kevin Davies and Kevin Nolan.
He told the Bolton News: "I think it's inevitable that Sam will be linked with our players in the next few weeks but people forget he's got good players over there too.
"Whether it's Sam, or any other individual, if someone comes in for one of our players, it's a good deal and we can replace him with what we want, then we'd do it. But we aren't actively looking to move people on."
Megson has said he would be willing to let Nicky Hunt, who is currently on loan at Birmingham City, move to St Andrew's on a permanent basis in January, but insists he is not interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers.
He said of the Beevers speculation: "We're not barking up that tree."
