Megson may opt for Riga
21 Jul 2008 - 16:08:05
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is being linked with Levante striker Mustapha Riga while Abdoulaye Meite looks set to move to Hull City before the transfer window closes at the end of next month.
Ghana-born Riga has been playing for Levante for the last three seasons but is trying to get his contract with the Spanish side annulled due to non-payment of wages following the club's relegation from La Liga.
Riga, who played for Dutch sides Vitesse Arnhem, RBC Roosendaal and Sparta Rotterdam before moving to Spain in 2005, said of the rumours linking him with a transfer to Bolton: "I chose to come to Spain first, but you never know.
"If there is an official offer I would not hesitate."
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast defender Abdoulaye Meite continues to be linked with a move to Hull City with Tigers boss, Phil Brown, saying: "It's chairman to chairman and we're still talking.
"It's interesting as we go along. Either Bolton will have to play ball or they won't play ball."
