Megson happy with spirit

Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson believes the spirit at the club is the best since he arrived at the Reebok Stadium 15 months ago. Even though the Trotters have lost their last four league games and crashed out of the FA Cup, Megson believes the recent team-bonding trip to Dubai has helped to improve morale. He told the Bolton News: "I could sit here until I'm blue in the face and claim it - but people like (goalkeeping coach) Fred Barber have said the spirit is the best he's seen in 13 years. "Kevin Nolan has also said it's the best since he's been at the club." Megson was angered by weekend quotes from a representative of Danny Shittu claiming there was disharmony in the Reebok Stadium dressing room, and he added: "People can criticise our passing and our position. "However, what I won't have is some dope suggesting there are problems in my dressing room purely and simply to make money for themselves before the window closes. "If there's an issue in our dressing room then 91 other clubs up and down this country have got huge problems. "In fact, at the time we were made aware of the story, all our players were on a bus driving into Dubai city centre, having a sing-song. And that's not a club with problems."
