Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson remains upbeat about his misfiring side's chances of avoiding the drop this season.
Bolton's seven-year stay in the Premier League is in danger of coming to an end, with the weekend results leaving them in the bottom three.
Despite losing their last three league matches - to Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool - Megson is confident his side's fortunes will soon start to improve.
He told the club's official website: "Even though we've lost those games, we played ever so well in them.
"We're not lacking in confidence. The 1-0 defeat by Portsmouth was probably the best we've played since I've been here.
"We've picked up some decent results and improved our position since I've been here but, in doing that, all we've done is give ourselves a fighting chance that we didn't have a while back.
"Our position at the moment is perilous, but I don't think there's anybody in the bottom half, with the exception of Tottenham, who wouldn't consider their position perilous as well.
"There's a lot to play for. There are 30 points available and we've ten very difficult games. But when we play and we play properly, putting a good shift in, we're capable of beating anyone."
