Megson calls for better form
11 May 2009 - 15:39:09
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson admitted that his side had given a mixed display in the goalless draw at home to Sunderland.
The Trotters are nine points clear of the drop zone following the weekend stalemate, with Megson hoping for better performances against Hull City and Manchester City.
He said: "I thought we started okay in the first few minutes, but after that they got themselves into the game and completely dominated it.
"I think they had eight shots to our one in the first 45 minutes.
"They didn't have one in the second 45, because we started playing how I expect us to play and how we have played for most of the season."
Meanwhile, Megson praised the impact made by midfielder Mark Davies, who returned to the side after two months out with a knee injury.
He added: "He made a huge difference. He hadn't played for two months so he was fresh and wanted to get involved.
"He is terrific on the ball, but the big thing is he hasn't been playing, so he is desperate to get a game."
