Beleaguered Bolton Wanderers manager Sammy Lee praised Ivan Campo's impact as his struggling side moved off the foot of the Premier League table with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the Reebok Stadium.
The 33-year-old marked his first game of the campaign with a goal, to Lee's obvious pleasure.
He said of the Spaniard: "Ivan gave the supporters a lift and gave me a lift when he scored that goal.
"He is a proud guy, a great professional, and I have nothing but respect for him.
"We need all our players with the number of competitions we are in.
"I felt there was a lack of confidence in the side. That is understandable but there was no lack of commitment.
"We are not firing on all cylinders but showing gradual improvement and that is what I'm looking for."
