Bolton Wanderers have announced that Archie Knox will take charge of first-team affairs for the immediate future, following the departure of manager Sammy Lee.
Lee left the club after a poor start to the new season, with Knox stepping into the breach from his position as coaching co-ordinator with the Trotters.
Knox has a wealth of coaching experience, having risen to prominence as assistant manager to Alex Ferguson at Aberdeen, before acting as number two to Walter Smith at both Rangers and Everton.
The 60-year-old gave up his job as Scotland Under-21s coach to take up his post with Bolton at the start of the current campaign.
Meanwhile, winger Christian Wilhelmsson is a doubt to face the Gunners after suffering an ankle injury during Sweden's 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland on Wednesday evening.
The 27-year-old is with Bolton on a season-long loan from French club Nantes, but has yet to start a game in the Premier League this season.
