New doubts are surrounding Jussi Jaaskelainen's future after the goalkeeper's agent revealed that new contract talks with Bolton Wanderers had stalled.
The Finland international turned down a new deal in the summer and was linked with a move away from the Reebok Stadium, before opting to remain at the club.
Jaaskelainen is out of contract next summer and his agent, Peter Harrison, has urged the club to start talks with his client as soon as possible.
He told the Manchester Evening News: "Bolton have tied up Nicolas Anelka, but Jussi has been there ten years and talks have stalled."
The 32-year-old was linked with Sunderland, Aston Villa and Tottenham over the summer.
