Fabrice Muamba is speaking again, claims friend

Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba has started speaking again, according to Curtis Codrington, who says he is a friend of the player and is one of just 83 people Muamba follows on the social networking site Twitter.
Press Association Sport spoke to Codrington on Monday evening when he was on his way to see Muamba in hospital following the 23-year-old's cardiac arrest during Bolton's FA Cup quarter-final tie with Tottenham on Saturday night.
"Fabrice is speaking and moving," said Codrington. "He has spoken minimal words in French and English."
Bolton manager Owen Coyle left the London Chest Hospital, where he has been a visitor every day since Muamba's collapse, without commenting on Codrington's claims.
There has been no word from the hospital either, although they had earlier released the most encouraging news yet about Muamba's condition.
"Fabrice Muamba remains in intensive care at The London Chest Hospital, where today he is showing small signs of improvement," read a joint statement, released by Barts and the London NHS Trust and Bolton.
"His heart is now beating without the help of medication and he is also moving his arms and his legs.
"However, his long-term prognosis will remain unclear for some time.
"He is still critically ill and will continue to be closely monitored and treated by staff in The London Chest Hospital's intensive care unit."
