Bolton Wanderers boss Sammy Lee has invited two players to the club's training camp in Austria as he continues to look at ways of strengthening his squad.
Spanish midfielder Mikel Alonso and Swiss winger David Degen will train with the Trotters in a bid to earn permanent contracts at the Reebok Stadium.
Alonso is currently with Real Sociedad and was a regular on the substitute's bench with the Basque side last season.
The 27-year-old is the older brother of Liverpool's Xabi Alonso.
Switzerland international Degen spent last season with Borussia Monchengladbach as the club were relegated from the German Bundesliga.
The 24 year-old winger previously played for Aarau and FC Basel.
Lee told Bolton's official website: "I'm hoping to invite the two players over to Austria with the rest of the first-team squad so we can have a good look at them. Both players could interest us for next season.
"Mikel (Alonso) is a creative midfielder who has an excellent passing game similar to his brother Xabi, who plays at Liverpool.
"David (Degen) likes to play wide-right and exploit the flanks. He has a good turn of pace, which could add a new dimension to our style of play."
