Davies targets strong finish
10 Mar 2009 - 14:18:53
Captain Kevin Davies believes a top-half finish is within Bolton Wanderers' grasp this season.
The Trotters are currently 11th in the table and Davies believes their next three fixtures - against Fulham, West Brom and Middlesbrough - will define whether they can push on and finish in the top ten.
"We're in this position now and we feel that we can push on and get into the top ten," he told the club's official website. "That's something we want to do - we don't want to be in a relegation battle.
"We have to keep winning our home games especially and we feel that with the fixtures coming up, we can pick up a minimum of seven points, but of course we're going all guns blazing for the entire nine points.
"The manager has tried to get it into us that we don't want to be looking over our shoulders.
"We said a month ago that we feel we have a good run-in and that we've played most of the big boys, with just Chelsea and Aston Villa left, which will be tough.
"Apart from those two fixtures, we believe we can win the rest of our games."
