Davies at home with Trotters
10 Aug 2009 - 08:43:09
Veteran striker Kevin Davies hopes to be able to finish his career with Bolton Wanderers, having been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
The 32-year-old has been a target for Hull City in recent weeks, but Davies insists that he wants to stay put.
He told the Daily Mirror: "I hope that I can finish my career at Bolton. I am happy both on and off the pitch.
"I have two years left on my contract and unless the club want to sell me, I would be happy to stay here for the rest of my career.
"I like it at Bolton, there is always a challenge here. We have done well in the past getting into Europe and a cup final when people have written us off. I guess I love the underdog aspect of it all.
"Even now, people will be writing us off again and I want to prove them wrong.
"We are not far away from getting back to the days when we used to have success under Sam Allardyce.
"We are maybe a little light on numbers, but the manager is working hard to correct that."
