Davies accepts England snub

Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies says he is not too concerned about having failed to break into the England national team in recent times.

The 32-year-old targetman has made it into the last two provisional squads, but has been one of the players cut from the final parties by coach Fabio Capello.

However, Davies told the Bolton News: "It's just nice to be in his thoughts and plans. It's something I've always felt I was going to do but it has never quite happened.

"Hopefully I'll get the chance one day, but if I don't I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

"It's well documented that I'm near the top of the goalscoring charts, so all I have been concentrating on is scoring a few more before the end of the season.

"It's nice to be up there, but for me it's about Bolton and trying to push away from where we are - within touching distance of the relegation zone."
