Davies' contract talks continue

Kevin Davies has confirmed that he is close to signing a new contract with Bolton Wanderers.

The 31-year-old was linked with a transfer to Hull City last month, but is adamant that he sees his immediate future at the Reebok Stadium.

He told the Bolton News: "We're in talks and that's where we stand at the moment.

"I'm settled here so it's just down to myself and the club. I'm very positive about it, so hopefully we can get something tied up by the start of the season."

The former Chesterfield and Blackburn Rovers forward has scored 40 goals in 205 appearances for the Trotters since arriving at the club from Southampton five years ago.
