Coyle wary of former loanee Wilshere
09 Sep 2010 - 16:36:04
Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has admitted Jack Wilshere will be a dangerman during Saturday's clash with Arsenal.
The 18-year-old midfielder spent the second half of the last season on loan at the Reebok Stadium where Coyle believes he matured as a player.
Wilshere started the first two Premier League games of the new season for the Gunners in the absence of Cesc Fabregas and Coyle is wary of the threat the teenager poses.
"Jack is a very talented player," he said. "He is such a gifted lad and has matured no end.
"He came to us as a boy and went back to Arsenal as a man. He showed that by playing in the Arsenal first team and by turning out for England at full international level.
"There is no doubt he is going to have a glittering career.
"He knows the way we work and he has a lot of friends here, but during the match we will try to nullify the threat he poses."
Meanwhile, Coyle has confirmed that Adam Bogdan will make his first league start for the Trotters as first-choice goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen is suspended.
"Adam ticks all the boxes," he added. "He takes crosses, he is a terrific shot-stopper and he is brave.
"But the proof is in the pudding. He is going to have to deal with some top players at Arsenal and it is a real baptism for him."
