Bolton Wanderers midfielder Ivan Campo looks set to stay at the Reebok Stadium despite recent reports suggesting he was keen to secure a return to Spain.

The 32-year-old was linked with a transfer to Athletic Bilbao last month but any potential move appears to have stalled.

"The signing of Ivan to Athletic is very difficult, as Bolton do not want to sell," said the player's agent Miguel Angel Cermeno.

In December Campo had told Marca: "In England, I have returned to enjoying playing football but I already have a desire to return home."

The defender has scored 13 goals in 141 appearances for Bolton since moving to the Reebok Stadium in 2002.
